Daquan Andy Cooper
"I'm a classic man
You could be mean when you look this clean
I'm a classic man
Calling on me like a young OG
I'm a classic man"
Daquan Andy Cooper was one of the strongest men known to his friends and family. He was a beloved son, an amazing brother, an amazing father, and a great friend. Daquans hobbies were spending time with his family, hanging out with his friends, shopping and most of all cars. At the age of 19, Daquan realized that he did not want to work for anyone and decided to take the route of an entrepreneur. Daquan saved up the money earned working in McDonald's and bought his first car. From that point, he had the idea of buying cars, fixing them, then selling them for a profit. This later became his business, buying a car for a low price, then fixing it, then selling the vehicle for a larger amount( similar to the stock market). He used his cell phone to take pictures of the car and used Craigslist as a platform to sell the cars(marketing). He was a very smart man, however, he was used to one environment and mindset. Which sadly was the result of his death.
The purpose of the academic achievement portion of the program is to support mentees in achieving academic success. The program aims to identify mentees weakest subjects and provide educational resources to support them in attaining success. This portion of the program will help the student advance in school as well as be more confident.
Pick Your Passion
The purpose of the Pick your Passion(P.Y.P) portion of the program is to allow the mentees to articulate what they are passionate about. With that information, we will bring in mentors to cultivate the mentees passion. (Example: If the mentee loves to draw and paint, we will bring in an artist to work with the mentee and to cultivate their skills). The end goal of this portion is to show the mentees that they are able to make a career in what they are passionate about.
The purpose of the financial literacy portion of the program is to teach the mentees financial management skills which will develop better financial habits. We will teach the mentees credit, investments, entrepreneurship, loans and the language of budgeting and saving. This allows the mentees to learn about finances at a young age which will carry over into their adult lives.
The purpose of the philanthropy portion of the program is to teach the mentees that there is more to life than receiving. It is also about giving back to the people that are less fortunate. The mentees will learn the value of the things that they are able to receive while earning community service hours as well as experience in philanthropy.
